A spot of bother
A review of the Salcura Antiac acne range.
It’s funny how things change as you get older. There’s the ‘big’ stuff like your ambitions and dreams, but there’s also the smaller things as well.
My skin is an example of how something has changed for me over the years.
As a teenager I had beautifully clear skin with only the odd spot or 2 to contend with. But, as I’ve gotten older, my skin has become more blotchy and more prone to spots.
It might sound trivial, but it actually isn’t. It affects my self-esteem and is the main reason why I rarely appear in any photographs – even personal, private family snaps – without any foundation and concealer.
I tried various products throughout my twenties, but none seemed to work.
In fact, the only 2 things that I found made a lasting difference was pregnancy and a specific type of contraceptive pill which, unbeknownst to me, carries an increased risk of breast cancer.
Obviously, neither of those 2 options are viable long-term choices.
So when I was asked to try out a new range of acne products by the company Salcura, I thought it was worth a try.
The Salcura Antiac acne range
I was sent the current range of anti-acne products:
The ‘Daily’ products have been developed for everyday use and aim to reduce redness, light blemishes and maintain clear skin. Meanwhile, the spray and serum are designed to deal with any flare-ups.
The company prides itself on making products that are free from harsh chemicals and other compounds that may cause skin irritations.
How well did the Salcura Antiac acne range work for me?
The products arrived just as I was battling another outbreak of sporadic spot clusters so I wasted no time in incorporating all four Antiac products into my beauty routine.
I use the face wash in the morning. This leaves my skin feeling dry and taut so I follow it up with the liquid spray.
I spritz the spray onto a cotton wool pad or piece of tissue and wipe it over my face. It feels very light on my face and invigorating.
The gel serum comes out during the day whenever I feel it’s necessary and then in the evening I use the face wipes.
After a few days of using all four products together I noticed that the redness on my face had subsided.
After about a week, my spots had disappeared.
After 2 weeks, even my husband commented on how clear and blemish-free my skin had become.
I was chuffed to bits, especially as my skin had cleared up in time for our family holiday.
Because my skin was spot-free, I stopped using the gel serum. Shortly afterwards, we flew to Florida.
Maybe it was the Florida sunshine and humidity, or maybe it was because I was no longer using the gel serum, but it wasn’t long before spots slowly began to appear once again. Although the face wash, wipes and spray did help to reduce redness, they didn’t stop the spots coming.
Once home though, I started applying the gel serum again and any spots were quickly dealt with.
I’ve since reintroduced my full Antiac routine and it’s definitely using them in combination that seems to work best for me.
While the Salcura Antiac acne range hasn’t stopped spots from appearing on my skin altogether, the products do reduce redness and blotches.
The gel serum in particular tackles spots quickly when they do appear: it’s proving to be my favourite acne treatment at the moment.
These are definitely the most effective acne treatments that I’ve come across. I’m continuing to use all of the Antiac products even now and intend to carry on with them too.
As well as helping to fight spots, the Salcura Antiac acne range has helped to give me more confidence when I look into a mirror and that can only be a good thing.
